Opening ceremony of the new training base

The date of January 15th, 2014 is now permanently inscribed in the history of Wisła Kraków and the city of Myślenice, where, in the presence of distinguished guests, grand opening and dedication ceremony of the newly formed Wisła Kraków training complex at ul. Zdrojowa was held.

Official opening of the Wisła Kraków training base was commenced by the mayor of Myślenice, Maciej Ostrowski, along with the president of "Sport Myślenice" – Józef Moskal. On behalf of the White Star, the ceremony was attended by the President of Wisła Kraków S.A., Jacek Bednarz and CEO of TELE-FONIKA - Ryszard Pilch.

Just before the symbolic ribbon cutting, mayor of Myślenice, Maciej Ostrowski, spoke to the guests about the history of cooperation with Tele-Fonika. "The cooperation agreement is safe for both, Myślenice and Tele-Fonika. It is signed for the period of twenty years with extension for the following ten. The cost of construction of this facility amounted to almost 10 million."- he revealed to the audience. "I would like to give great thanks go to Mr. Bogusław Cupiał and Ryszard Pilch, who understood that our actions must be transparent and clear. It is worth noting that the rent, from which "Sport Myślenice" is to make loan repayments, is covered by Tele-Fonika "- added the mayor of Myślenice at the end of his speech.

President of Wisła Kraków S.A. , Jacek Bednarz , in turn, stressed the role of the Myślenice complex in building the position of the White Star . "Dreams do come true. Today, the words I spoke six months ago became reality. This is why I am particularly pleased to welcome you all in the name of Wisła Kraków and thank you for joining us in celebration of this very important moment" - he said. "What happened here was not a matter of words, which is why I shall refrain from using too many and only say the ones which are most important. This dream came true, because some very important people made a very difficult, very important and far-reaching decision for Wisła and for Myślenice . Beginning with President Bogusław Cupiał , long time citizen of Myślenice, the CEO of Tele-Fonika Cables, Ryszard Pilch, the Mayor of Myślenice, Mr. Maciej Ostrowski, and Józef Moskal, who were all involved in this project " – he continued.

President Jacek Bednarz paid special attention to the people, without whom objectives of the plan would be impossible to achieve. "From the point of view of Wisła Kraków, these four people deserve real thanks. President Cupiał, for being the spiritus movens of all this, President Pilch, for being the good spirit of the project, Mr. Mayor for his courage and for forcing Mr. Moskal to turn this project into reality, so that we may walk the field, enjoy and admire these facilities today "- he stressed. "In professional sports, sometimes the place where one trains and raises qualifications can be more important. Today, nothing stands between our team and football with a capital “F”. Ladies and Gentlemen, on behalf of myself and Wisła Kraków, thank you very much "- concluded President of Wisła Kraków S.A., Jacek Bednarz.

On Wednesday afternoon, nearly 400 guests gathered in the Dalin Myślenice hall, associated not only with the White Star, but Kraków sports in general. Among the invited guests were: Marek Motyka, Grzegorz Pater, Kazimierz Moskal, Krzysztof Bukalski, Mirosław Szymkowiak, Tomasz Frankowski, and Kamil Kosowski. The event was also graced with the presence of the prominent actor and longtime Wisła Kraków supporter - Jerzy Fedorowicz. Also present were players and coaching staff of Wisła Kraków, as well as employees who take care of the daily operations of the club.

Musical setting for the assembled guests was provided by finalist of the 1st edition of Polish "Got Talent" and the winner of the 3rd edition of "The Voice of Poland" - Mateusz Ziółko. The gathering in Myślenice also became an excellent opportunity for conversation and sharing of football-related memories. The owner of the Wisła and Tele-Fonika received special painting from the representatives of Myślenice, as an expression of gratitude for the fruitful cooperation.
