From the start of the game, it was apparent that Energie was more than two weeks of preparations ahead of Wisła. Both teams were at completely different levels of form. Due to their exhausting training sessions, Wisła players were not even able to outrun their rivals. The game went off to a bad start for Wisła, as already in the 4th minute, Energie took the lead. Farina passed from the side to Adlung, who defeated Pareiko from close range.

At the start of the second half, both teams sent in new players - Wisła 11 and Energie 7. Despite these changes, the second part of the game started off just like the first one: with Cottbus scoring a goal. Eight minutes into the game Glasner defeated Miśkiewicz from very close range by deflecting Fomitschow's shot. This time, however, Wisła responded immediately. After a through pass from Garguła, Szewczyk took advantage of a one-on-one with Energie's goalkeeper.

In the 72nd minute, Bunoza came close to equalising. His shot was heading for the goal but in the last moment got deflected by one of Energie's defenders.
