In the first half, there were many actions from both sides in the central part of the pitch. One minute the ball was in the Wisła penalty area, like when Mateusz Machaj fired a strong shot but Buchalik’s immediate intervention saved the team from Cracow, and the next Wisła was building a great counterattack that, however, didn’t conclude with a goal thanks to Łukasz Burliga, that got faster to the ball addressed to Boguski.

A few moments after the second half opening whistle, the home side started to attack, though with no effects. However, they didn’t stop the efforts to score. In the 60th minute, Bezjak was going to burst into the Wisła penalty area at speed but was irregularly stopped by Buchalik. At first, the goalkeeper was punished with a yellow card but a moment later, the referee changed his decision and showed him a red one and awarded the rival team with a free kick. Between the posts stood Mateusz Lis that pulled out a fantastic save but video verification showed that the ball sent by Arvydas Novikovas passed the goal-line completely.

It seemed that the White Star players, even playing with ten men, would equal when Wasilewski took a free kick but Marian Kelemen placed the ball over the crossbar.

The Polish vice-champion, even despite playing both in the league and in qualifying rounds of Europa League, weren’t tired and managed to beat Wisła.
