No points earned in Poznań
Published: 02-11-2010 12:20Wisła lost 1:4 in the prestigious game against Lech Poznań. “The goal difference was too large” – declared Robert Maaskant after the game.

Lech dominated the first half, but was unable to convert several chances. Wisła was focused on the counter attack, but each time failed to hit the target. The first goal emerged in the 49th minute, when Sobolewski passed the ball to Paweł Brożek, who caught Kotowski off guard and smashed a shot into the far corner of the goal.
There was precious little time to celebrate it, which is perhaps the reason for the defeat in Poznań. Injac equalized just three minutes later, after Pawełek attempted to make a desperate save and failed to stop the ball. The host team earned the second goal in the 68th minute, when Wisła’s defence failed to clear the ball from Stilic, who passed the ball to Kriwiec.
Wisła tried hard to equalize, but the White Star footballers failed to make clear-cut opportunities on the host team goal. Lech Poznań proved to be more successful on the attack, when Tshibamba, who made it to the pitch just minutes earlier, was fouled and Lech was awarded a penalty in the 80th minute. The penalty was executed by Stilic. In extra time, Lech Poznań scored the 4th goal, when Możdżeń netted the ball in after some commotion in the box. In the meantime, Wisła lost Cleber, who was taken to hospital. Until Cleber’s injury, Maaskant brought on all three substitutes, and Wisła was forced to play with ten men only.
