The game could not change anything in the table and Robert Maaskant, as he had announced, let some of his players take a rest. This created a chance of playing from the first minute for several other players, namely Filip Kurto, Łukasz Burliga, Mikhail Sivakov and Łukasz Garguła.

The home team prevailed in the first half with Wisła waiting for an opportunity to launch a counter-attack. Neither team had many chances to score and it was the White Star who managed to take advantage of one of them. In the 42nd minute, Melikson passed the ball to Genkov who created a one-on-one situation, played the ball to Łukasz Garguła who passed it to the left to Kirm. It was the Slovenian player who managed to put the ball into the net.

Another goal was scored in the 57th minute from a penalty kick. Fouled in the penalty area during his rally, Melikson scored a goal from the penalty. The third goal was scored in the extra time when Ríos defeated Zagłębie goalkeeper by slicing the ball.

The match saw a debut from another young White Star player. In the 90th minute, Damian Skołorzyński from the Young Wisła team came in to replace Erik Čikoš.
