Jakub Błaszczykowski joins Wisła Kraków

Not only every Wisła fan but everybody that is interested in Polish football waited for this moment to come. This extraordinary footballer, Poland international and, above all, loyal person decided on joining the White Star and signed a half-year contract.


Jakub Błaszczykowski, a player that is recognized all over the world, was born on 14 December of 1985 in Częstochowa. His football career started in Raków Częstochowa and the way he got to the Ekstraklasa was via KS Częstochowa. He picked Wisła over any other team and played there for 2,5 years. The first senior football success was achieved in his first season in the top league. Then, he received various individual awards and was called for the first time to join the Polish national team.

His high-level performances helped him, in 2007, move to Borussia Dortmund, where shortly after he became the fans’ favourite and showed his skills. With Borussia he won two Bundesliga titles and a national cup. While playing in Germany, he made his debut in in the Champions League final and added a few more awards to his mantelpiece. After an eight-year adventure at Borussia, he joined ADF Fiorentina on loan. Last foreign team in his career is VfL Wolfsburg, where he played since 2016.
 
Jakub Błaszczykowski is one of the pillars of the national team and, what’s more, a record holder in the number of matches played. Since 2006, he has made 105 appearances and has scored 21 goals.
