Issa Ba a Wisła player!

Issa Ba has signed a contract with Wisła Kraków. The contract with the Senegalese halfback shall apply until the 31st of May 2010 with a two year extension option.

Issa Ba was born on the 7th of October 1981 in Dakar. He is a centre half. The player has spent the majority of his career in France. Between 2000-2004 he played in the second division Stade Lavallois. Next he moved to Châteauroux, where he spent two seasons. In the 2006/2007 season the halfback moved to AJ Auxerre. The Senegalese player spent three years there. At the end of the 2008/2009 season Ba became a contractually free player. Recently he trained with the Spanish club Terrasa FC, playing in group 3, Segunda Division B.

On Monday the 11th of January Issa Ba began tryouts at Wiśła Kraków. The player travelled to the Antalya training camp in Turkey, where he played in three training games. In the first, lost by the White Star against Karpaty Lwów 1:2, he contributed to the goal of Bratislav Punosevac.

Issa Ba has also played in the Senegal national team, first in 2000 in the friendly match with Zambia. He scored his only goal so far in the national team in the match against Zimbabwe in the African Nations Cup championship in 2006.

At Wiśla the player will play with the number 80 on his shirt. “I want to build up my form here, I want to play and to win the Ekstraklasa with Wiśła. Also I would like to qualify for the Champions League, because it is very important for us and for the club” – the player declared.
