History Tends to Repeat Itself on Konwiktorska
Published: 30-11-2010 10:39In the preceding season, Wisla went to play a match at Konwiktorska and returned to Krakow with three points. A modest win was the result of an own goal of Polonia team. On the Sunday afternoon, one more time, the history confirmed its propensity to repeat itself.

The hosts had an observable advantage in the first minutes of the match. Artur Sobiech was unbeaten in the air duels for the ball while Adrian Mierzejewski dominated on both wings of the turf. In 18th minute, Paljić activated Malecki on the left wing but the cross of the Wisla's halfback was taken over by Dariusz Pietrasiak, who was unfortunate enough to place the ball in his own net.
In the latter part of the game Wisla was expected to score more points. Polonia struggling to make up for the losses uncovered itself leaving the guests plenty of room for launching counter-attacks. Biala Gwiazda's fullbacks took advantage of the situation. Małecki and Kirm took turns bunking off Polonia's defenders. Their joint action could have resulted in another goal yet as Malecki played the ball to Kirm's nose, the Slovenian player managed only to hit the side of the net.
Towards the end of the game, Polonia took the lead and created two excellent opportunities to score points. However, Gołębiewski missed from the distance of five metres and his "misdeed" was made even worse by Mierzejewski who was unable to hit the goal from three metres.
The attacks of the hosts did not bring any desired results. The charms of Pawel Janas and Gancarczyk's rides turned out to be futile. After a difficult match of hard game full of difficult situations, Wisla's score increased by another three points.
