Neither team managed to put on a good show for the spectators. The first part of the first half was dominated by the White Star. Maor Melikson had a great opportunity to score in the 28th minute when one-on-one with Jasmin Burić after a pass from Cezary Wilk. However, Poznań's goalkeeper managed to stop that attempt.

In the 22nd minute, Arkadiusz Głowacki had to leave the pitch due to injury. His substitute, Jan Frederiksen, will not be remembering this game as one of his best. In the 36th minute, the Danish player lost the ball to Lech, allowing the rivals to attack. Drewniak passed Cezary Wilk and defeated Sergei Pareiko.

Although this was Lech's only shot on target in the game, the team from Poznań managed to hold on to the lead until the end. Manager Kulawik tried to change the score by sending in two attackers – Tsvetan Genkov and Daniel Sikorski. However, it was Wisła's defensive midfielder, Cezary Wilk, who had the best chance. Unfortunately, his shot in the 82nd minute hit the crossbar. Moments later, Burić became Lech's saviour. The goalkeeper made a superb save against Rafał Boguski's dangerous shot and hit the ball for a corner kick.
