Foreign Wisła Wins Sparring Match
Published: 24-07-2010 09:31Just like last week, also this week, the day after the match played within the championship games, Biała Gwiazda played a sparring meeting. On Hutnik Stadium, the Wisła team, composed mainly of foreign footballers, faced KSZO Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski. In the basic team of the hosts there were only three Polish players, i.e. Mariusz Pawełek, Wojciech Łobodziński and a new kid on the block acquired a few hours earlier - Cezary Wilk. The rest of the team were the footballers of foreign descent.
Although everyone watched the tested players, the main focus was on Andres Rios and Tomas Jirsak. The former was charming the audience with his technique - he would the rivals push and squeeze the rivals down to the ground or attempt an overhead kick. The latter gave two dangerous distance shots and in the 31. minute he assisted the first goal. Tomas played a straight ball between the defenders to Christian Tiboni, who took it and defeated Michał Wróbel with one strong shot from a dozen of metres.
The second half was less exciting. The game became more interesting in 71. minute when Dziewulski decided to shoot from 20 metres scoring the goal; the ball went past the post by an inch thus equalising the result, which was held for only eleven minutes. In the final seconds of thematic, Andraż Kirm scored the winning goal. In the last second of the match, the final result was determined by the youngest footballer on the pitch, i.e. Michał Nalepa, a defensive stopper, who defeated Wróbel with a head shot.
After the match a decision was made to keep out of the four tested footballers Rok Elsner in Kraków.
