Equal Balance
Published: 08-11-2010 12:23In the penultimate week of the last year’s season, Cracovia equalized in the last minutes of a derby match against Wisła. After this 1:1 tie, Wisła was no longer in the position to become the Polish Champion. This year, Wisła took revenge of the last year’s draw at the Cracovia stadium. The host team conceded a goal in the last few seconds of the 182 Derby match against Wisła, and the White Star secured a 3 point win.

The initial 30 minutes of the first half were uneventful. Although Wisła was the dominant side from the very beginning, it failed to create chances. Cracovia at last got into their rhythm and had the first goal-scoring opportunity, but Pawełek successfully faced off Saidi in a one on one.
Feeling the growing pressure, Wisła finally started to create goal scoring opportunities. In the 37th minute, Chavez missed his goal attempt by inches when he tried to head the ball in after a pass from the corner. A few minutes later, Cabaj left the goal empty, but Cikos missed a perfect opportunity. Cracovia's goalkeeper committed several mistakes in the first half, but he also made some perfect saves as well.
After the break, the game became even less compelling. Goal scoring opportunities were few and far between, and the result was decided as late as in the 94th minute. Bunoza hit a high ball to the right side of the pitch, and Kirm sent a flat shot into the box. Boukhari finished it off, and the ball was in the back of the net despite Cabaj’s desperate attempt to save.
