Draw, rain and hail

After a stormy game, Wisła Kraków drew a tie against Ujpest, a Vice-Champion of Hungary. Despite the weather, the White Star team dominated throughout the game.

Both teams were warming up in pouring rain. As it was still raining after the first whistle, the football pitch was covered in huge water puddles that made it very difficult to play. The ball would stop in puddles or slide over water. The White Star soon took the lead and was faster to adapt to such critical conditions. Wojciech Łobodziński was fouled in the 17th minute in the corner of the penalty area, and Arkadiusz Głowacki scored the penalty.

The referee was forced to stop the match as the hail started to fall in the 67th minute and there was no point in continuing the game. Although it appeared that the match would not be resumed, the referee soon brought the players to the pitch.

Adis Nurković, currently tested by Wisła, committed two major mistakes apparently due to unfavorable weather conditions. He kicked the ball twice right into water puddles, luckily enough the Ujpest players missed twice when Wisła’s goal was empty. In the 83rd minute, Tisza took possession of the ball in the penalty area and scored an equalizer.
