Defeat away against Legia
Published: 04-10-2011 15:10Wisła Kraków suffered their second league defeat, losing 0-2 against Legia in Warsaw.

Inspired by their victory in the European League, Legia began the match with attacks trying to surprise Wisła. In the very beginning of the game, Legia had a good chance to score but Gol’s attempt was slightly off-target. As usual, the home team were dangerous with their set pieces, especially if executed by Maciej Rybus. The first goal for Legia was scored in the 25th minute. After an action by Rybus, Ljuboja put the ball into the net after he took it away from Pareiko’s hands. Having taken the lead, Legia continued their attacks and were successful in defending their own goal against Wisła who were determined to create a scoring opportunity. Dudu Biton had a perfect opportunity to score an equalizer in the extra time of the first half. He hit the ball with his head but Kuciak was in the way.
Wisła kept on attacking and trying to outwit Legia’s defence. Wisła’s attacks, however, were followed by counterattacks by Legia. In the 70th minute Wisła’s line of defence was broken again. After a pass from Rybus, Janusz Gol scored another goal for Legia. It was the second time that Sergei Pareiko had to take the ball out of the net. In the second half, the White Star had only one opportunity to score after an attempt by Cezary Wilk as a result of which Kuciak was close to letting the ball into the net but eventually managed to save it just at the goal line.
