Thursday training, preceded by analysis of the last game and theoretical preparation before the next one, started with a warm up at the gym and then, the players went on practising defending skills.

Defensive organization is an important part of the tactics and the White Star players worked on taking correct positions on the field. The aim of this part of the training was to develop right reactions on different match situations and practise defensive mechanisms of the whole team.

Focus on crosses

The next phase of the training was dedicated to tactical skills. “Wiślacy” concentrated their efforts on training crosses and reactions on throw-ins on different areas of the pitch. The coaching staff divided the players into two teams and assigned them different roles. The task of the first one was to cover one of the opposite team players in a way that he couldn’t put a shot on goal, whilst the other team were trying to outrun the rival and find a way to score a goal.

The training was considered done after set piece practice, during which they focused on three aspects of taking free kicks and corner kicks: starting play with accuracy, getting into positions and blocking the opponent. These elements need continuous improvement in order to develop good habits.

Arkadiusz Głowacki and Vullnet Basha trained individually with the motor control coach, Daniel Michalczyk.
