Wisła Kraków ended the regular season of the Lotto Ekstraklasa with a scoreless draw against Sandecja Nowy Sącz. After two games, Rafał Boguski came back to the line-up and put the captain’s armband on.

The post-match interview was not lacking in a dose of self-criticism: ‘It was not a good game from our side, that is for sure. Many elements were missing, though, it has to be admitted that Sandecja showed a great deal of determination in defending. The host team sat very deep and waited for counter attacks and set pieces’ - explained Boguś.

‘Crushing the defensive of the opponent was very difficult. Although we tried, we did not manage to create clear chances’.

Focused on ourselves

A draw guaranteed a playoff spot, but even if Wisła had lost, they would still find themselves among eight teams that fight for the title, thanks to Lechia Gdańsk which beat Arka Gdynia in the Tricity Derby. ‘To be honest, I did not desperately strain my ears for news from Gdańsk. All of us were fully concentrated on ourselves and not interested in another games’ - assured RB9.

Having ended the regular season in 7th place, Wisła are to receive on their own stadium the following teams: Lech Poznań, Legia Warszawa and Zagłębie Lubin. ‘It is good news since we will have the opportunity to take revenge for the recent home loss against Lech and improve our statistics in games against Legia on the R22 stadium. No doubts that this stage of the season will be interesting. In each game, the goal is to scoop three points’ - ended the White Star captain.
