Bartkowski: The victory was close
Published: 23-07-2018 16:15Last Saturday, in the first game of the season, the White Star hosted Arka Gdynia. The teams shared the points in a goalless draw.
Wisła’s defensive formation, including Jakub Bartkowski, efficiently neutralised the most important players of Arka and almost in no moment could the rival cause problems for Michał Buchalik. “It’s not only our task to defend, but the whole team work in this aspect and I think that we can be happy with our defensive play” - started Jakub Bartkowski.
Draw despite the domination
The biggest problem of Maciej Stolarczyk’s men was the lack of efficiency and luck. “The chances we created in the first, as well as in the second half, were good. We were really close to winning the match and I suppose that if next week we play in a similar way, consequently in defense, we can gain not only one but the three points” - said the defender.
Offensive attempts
“The coach doesn’t limit us when it comes to the offensive play. He want us to participate and help in the offensive attempts and both of us side defenders, me and Rafał Pietrzak, like it.”
From the very beginning, Wisła players put the pressure on Arka. “We had hard trainings in the first phase of the pre-season. That is why I don’t think we will have problems with keeping the high pace” - concluded Bartkowski.
