Players of the White Star did not deliver a Christmas gift for their fans, by losing 0:2 in the match against Lech Poznań. The meeting went on in truly extreme weather conditions with heavy snow. The hosts fared much better in this situation.

Wisła players, who were the first ones to start the match, immediately rushed to the attack. However, their first attempt at playing fast ball was unsuccessful. Then, for a brief moment the hosts took over the ball, but did not manage to create a dangerous situation. In the 6th minute, Garguła made a good left pass to Guerrier, but Lech Gostomski, today’s goalkeeper, turned out to be faster than the Haitian. Few moments later, Chrapek found himself in a perfect situation. Our central midfielder received a good pass by Paweł Brożek right in front of the penalty box from and managed to evade two defenders, but his left leg shot at the goal was too weak.

In the following minutes on the pitch turned to chaos. Good game and accurate play was rendered virtually impossible by the densely falling snow. Referee was forced to interrupt the game and order quick clearing of the snow, so that the lines necessary to make accurate decisions may be visible on the pitch. In the 36th minute Teodorczyk at full speed entered Wisła’s penalty box from the right, but danger was averted thanks to a good sliding tackle by Ostoja Stjepanović. Moments later, it got even more dangerous. After a corner kick, Arboleda made a shot at the post, which Henriquez threatened to finish off from a distance. Towards the end of the first half, Pawłowski crossed the ball perfectly from the left, but Teodorczyk’s powerful headshot was stopped by Miśkiewicz. Soon, Wisła managed to get back at the hosts. Boguski penetrated the penalty box and attempted to catch Gostomski off guard with his left leg, but the keeper of Lech probably confidently the ball.

Difficult conditions today on Bułgarska Street did not allow either team to get their game on, and so the first half resulted in a goalless draw. Naturally, the hosts felt more at home on the pitch, the condition of which leaves much to be desired even in good weather.

The second part of the game began with home advantage, but did not result in any specific threats to the White Star goal. Wisła responded in the 52th minute. Łukasz Garguła made a great perpendicular pass to Paweł Brożek. However, "Brozio" failed to control the ball, which ended up falling into the hands of Lech’s keeper. Four minutes later, the hosts scored the first goal of the match. Luis Henriqez entered Wisła’s penalty box from the left and managed to defeat Miśkiewicz with a powerful shot bounced off the post. Lech did not waste any time and just a moment later perfect opportunity was wasted by Ślusarski. The "Kolejorz" attacker missed the goal after a pass by Pawłowski from five meters. Wisła tried to even the score, but could not overcome the exceptional play of the hosts’ defense. In the 76th minute, following a quick exchange between Burliga and Sarki, the latter entered Lech’s penalty box and made a shot at the goal sadly missing the target. Despite White Star team’s efforts, the hosts scored their second goal. Hamalainen received a nice play inside of the penalty box and passed the ball back, which was then caught Lovrencsics, who managed to defeat our keeper with a powerful shot.
By the end of the meeting the result did not change and Wisła Kraków lost 0:2. Our players now await their final game in 2013, in which they will take on Pogoń Szczecin at the Reymonta Stadium.
