Wisła began the match with a false start. The team’s offensive plays didn’t mesh, while to make matters worse, Cracovia took the lead in the 25th minute with a surprising shot by Paweł Sasin from the 30 meter mark. The ball bounced off the crossbar of Mariusz Pawełek’s goal and landed inside the net. The situation could have been avoided were it not for Beto, who lost hold of the ball at the 20 meter mark, after which Sasin gained possession of the ball and gave his team the lead by defeating Pawełek. A few moments later, coach Maciej Skorża replaced Beto, who’s performance left a lot to be desired, with Rafał Boguski.

This turned out to be a turning point in the match. The White Star began to play with short passes, instead of long passes to an advanced striker. The 47th minute was another important moment in the match, when Radosław Sobolewski powered the ball into his opponent’s goal from the 16 meter mark.

The third turning point in the match occurred around the 65th minute. First Nowak failed to take advantage of another opportunity for Cracovia to take the lead, while a moment later, on the opposite side of the pitch, Marcelo sent the ball into the net at point blank range following some commotion in the penalty area. A minute later Małecki upped the score to 3:1.

With Cracovia reeling from the loss of a third goal, Wisła struck the final blow towards the end of the match. Piotr Ćwielong raised the score to 4:1 following a pass from Marek Zieńczuk.
