Wisła started the match more offensively as in the league match to make up for the points lost in Kraków. Małecki and Ćwielong had excellent goal-scoring opportunities. Kotorowski kicked out Małecki’s shot, and Pepe came very close but kicked over the crossbar. In the meantime, Lewandowski from Lech Poznań escaped the defenders but sent a shot to the side net.

Within the first 30 minutes of the first part, it was Lewandowski who decided the match. This time Lewandowski, the Polish national team player, was able to find some more space with Rengifo playing ahead of him (Rengifo missed the match on Sunday).  In the 26th minute of the match, Lewandowski managed to lob the ball to Cebanu, who scored the first goal. Just after 3 minutes, he was again left free on the left side and passed the ball to Rengifo, who scored the second goal.

After the break Skorża opted for a very offensive formation, and Głowacki scored goal from free kick. The White Star was superior in ball possession, however, failed to score any more goals and lost its chance to qualify to the semi-finals of the Polish Cup.
