Wisła began the match with Radosław Sobolewski and Ettien Dja Felix on center midfield.  “Sobol” returned to the team faster than everyone had expected – prior to the training camp in Spain, no one had projected he would play for even a minute during one of Wisła’s control matches in Estepona.  Meanwhile, Sobolewski not only made an appearance, but played for a full 45 minutes.  Coach Skorża decided to use the match as an opportunity to assess Ettien, who is currently being tested by the White Star.  The native of the Ivory Coast played on center midfield for the first 45 minutes before being moved to the right wing after halftime.  Ettien’s best performance came during the first 15 minutes of the match, when he was most active on the pitch.  He was less visible during the match’s later stages, although it was he who initiated the play that resulted in Wisła scoring a goal.  Ettien delivered a nice pass to Junior Diaz as he was advancing down the left wing.  The Costa Rican then relayed the ball flat along the ground into the penalty area, where Metallurg’s goalie mistakenly deflected the ball straight to Patryk Małecki, who cold-bloodedly took advantage of the opportunity.

Nonetheless, Małecki’s goal only evened the score for Wisła, as Metallurg had taken the lead at the beginning of the second half.  Mariusz Pawełek intercepted a long pass to one of Metallurg’s forwards, but, as this was outside the bounds of the penalty area, the Wisła goalie was forced to intervene with his head.  “Mario” deflected the ball straight to Silkov, who immediately decided to take a shot on goal.

Both teams had had their chances to score earlier.  Silkov should already have scored in the first half of the match, when he managed to even pass Pawełek after receiving a perpendicular pass, but, because he waited too long to shoot, Marcelo was able to clear the ball out from under his legs.  Wisła’s opportunities came mainly after plays carried out down the right wing, where Boguski managed to break free on two occasions, and once even managed to execute an excellent pass to Ettien, but the Ivory Coast native failed to gain good control of the ball and made a bad pass.  Radosław Sobolewski also crossed the ball from the right wing, with Piotr Ćwielong being just centimeters away from scoring another goal, but the ball flew just over his head.

This was Wisła’s last sparring match during the training camp in Estepona.  The White Star drew two 1:1 ties and lost one match 2:4.  Wisła’s next test will be a sparring match against Piast Gliwice.
